PILATES

Pilates is a movement practice that focuses on developing the deep inner core of the body to create movement patterns that are supported through stability, to address and correct posture, to restore and balance the muscles and curvatures of the spine. The principles include Concentration, Control, Centering, Fluidity and Breathing. Through this practice the body becomes more stable, strong, and fluid, gaining mobility and ease of movement. with an improvement in posture and alignment.

WHAT IS PILATES MATWORK

A series of exercises that are floor based and performed on a mat. Small props are used to facilitate exercises and to challenge the stability and mobility of the individual.
​At Keene Fusion Studios the classes are multi-level, students perform the exercises based on their experience and skill level.
Modifications and progressions are given as appropriate to the individual. 

WHAT IS PILATES APPARTUS

Pilates equipment facilitates learning, can support the body, and allow for adjustments for an individual.
​The equipment is used primarily in Private Sessions. We have the following equipment: Rehab Reformer (a combination of the Cadillac and a Reformer), Stability Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector and Spine Supporter. 
PRIVATE SESSIONS
Ideal for those with physical issues that cannot be properly addressed in a group class environment and for those who are new to Pilates practice.
